Rebekah Reid's debut solo album ‘Selected Works Vol. 1’ was originally commissioned by BBC Sounds and Radio 4 for the show '28ish Days Later'. The acclaimed BBC podcast explores the female menstrual cycle and since its launch in March 2022, has been included in Apple Podcasts Top 5 shows of 2022 and received high praise from the media and audiences alike.

Across 15 tracks, Rebekah takes the listener into new worlds, capturing an emotion, hormone or moment in the menstrual cycle and the result is a stunning sonic feast with each track depicting a theme.

Rebekah says: “I’m so excited to officially release ‘Selected Works Vol.1', and share it with the world! With this new album I have recreated the style and sound of an orchestra, all evolving from a single violin motif. When I received the commission from the BBC, I knew it was a project I needed to be involved in. There is still a lot of mystery, and sadly at times, shame, surrounding periods, so it’s been an opportunity to be part of something that genuinely shatters taboos, whilst celebrating women and providing support. I had a lot of fun at Strongroom playing with samples, creating beats and layering vocals. The track ‘Born New’ was created in my home studio, where I experimented with vocal noises and incorporated delay and reverb effects to create the ultrasound/underwater sound world and beating heartbeat in the womb"
